Fig. 4-6-1 shows the trend of females cleared for non-traffic Penal Code offenses since 1946 (See Appendix 1-1).
Fig. 4-6-2 shows the trends of new female inmates [1] 29 years of age or younger (youth) and [2] 65 years of age or older (elderly) and their types of offense respectively. The number of new youth inmates is decreasing and the Stimulant Control Act violations continue to be their most prevalent offense. On the contrary, for new elderly inmates, theft is the most common offense and their number is noticeably increasing.
