2 Number of parolees
Fig. 2-5-1-1 shows the number and the parole rate of released inmates (limited to those who were released from penal institutions on parole or completion of their term of imprisonment) since 1949. The parole rate was declining from 2005, reaching 49.1% in 2010. By gender, it was 47.6% (up 0.03 points from the previous year) with males and 69.1% (down 1.8 points (id.)) with females (Source: Annual Report of Statistics on Correction).
