Table 7-2-5-5 shows the status with the reimprisonment (limited to those reimprisoned for offenses they committed after release from their previous sentence on completion of the term of their imprisonment or on parole; hereinafter the same in this subsection) by a new final judgment of young people released from penal institutions during the period of 1996 through to 2010. The percentage of those reimprisoned within five years, inclusive of their year of release, was 34.0 to 44.8% (34.6 to 45.9% of males and 21.8 to 33.1% of females), but which was declining in recent years (Source: Annual Report of Statistics on Correction and the Judicial System Department, Minister’s Secretariat, Ministry of Justice).
