1 Number of persons cleared/convicted/imprisoned by age group

  Fig. 7-5-1-1 shows the percent distribution of persons cleared/convicted/imprisoned by age group in 2006.
  The percent ratio of elderly persons to total persons cleared was significantly high in Japan (24.9%) when compared to other countries. In addition, the percent ratio of elderly persons to total persons convicted and imprisoned were both highest in Japan at 9.3% and 12.3%, respectively.
