6 Damage to property

  The number of reported cases in damage to property was on a gradual increase until 1999 and increased markedly from 2000, reaching 230,743 cases in 2003.
  From 2004, it turned to decrease, reaching 194,824 cases (down by 10,488 cases (5.1%) from the previous year) in 2006, but it still maintains a high level.
  The clearance rate generally continued to decrease until 2003, after recovering a little afterwards, it is still low at 7.1% in 2006.
  Table 1-1-2-5 shows the percent ratio of damage to property by damaged property and by place in 2006.

  Vehicles account for more than half of damaged property, and in regard to places of occurrence, the total of parking places for vehicles including bicycles and roads comes to 48.4%.
