Table 3-1-4-1 shows the trends in the number of victims and the damage rate for rape and indecent assault over the last 10 years since 1993. In 2002, the number of victims for rape was 2,357 (an increase of 129 from the previous year) and the damage rate was 3.6, both of which generally have showed an upward tendency since 1997. In 2002, the number of female victims for indecent assault was 9,225;(an increase of 181 from the previous year), and the damage rate was 14.2, both of which have also increased since 1999.
