Section 3 Classification at Juvenile Classification Homes

1 Overview

  Juvenile classification homes admit juveniles placed under protective detention by the adjudication of family courts. They also conduct classification on the predisposition of those juveniles based on medical science, psychology, pedagogy, sociology and other scientific expertise to help investigations and hearings of juveniles by family courts, as well as the execution of subsequent protective measures. In addition, juvenile classification homes conduct classification on the predisposition of juveniles at the request of citizens, public and private organizations, etc.
  As of April1,2000,52juvenile classification homes had been established nationwide. The personnel working at juvenile classification homes include educational officers, technical officers and legal secretaries, among others. Educational officers are in charge of detention and shelter care for juveniles, whereas technical officers conduct classification on the predisposition of juveniles.
