White paper on crime 2011 Part7/Chapter4/Section2/4
Fig. 7-4-2-4 shows the annual changes (juvenile delinquents) in major answers concerning their understanding of parents’ attitudes toward them and the answers of juvenile delinquents/young offenders by history of protective measures.
No significant changes were observed in the answers to any of the questions with juvenile delinquents. Approximately 40% of juvenile delinquents answered that they sometimes felt “yes” to “my parents are too strict” concerning parents’ extremely strict attitude and a little under 30% continued to do so to “my parents do not care about me” concerning parents’ non-interfering attitude and to “what my parents say is inconsistent” concerning consistent guidance.
Comparing juvenile delinquents and young offenders revealed that higher percentage of young offenders answered “yes” to “my parents do not care about me” (27.3% with juvenile delinquents and 34.7% with young offenders) and “what my parents say is inconsistent” (29.5% and 37.1% (id.)) than juvenile delinquents.
