4 Parole of life imprisonment inmates Table 2-5-1-3 shows the number of life imprisonment inmates released on parole by served imprisonment term over the last 10 years.The number of life imprisonment inmates who served a imprisonment term of 20 years or less released on parole was quite large at 54 in 1979, but was nine in 1989, three in 1999, and has been zero since 2003 (Source: Annual Report of Statistics on Rehabilitation).
