6 Measures for victims, etc. in rehabilitation services
The response to the Basic Act on Crime Victims and the Basic Plan for Crime Victims included: [1] a system for hearing opinions in which the Regional Parole Board listens to the opinions, etc. of crime victims, etc. in the process of examination for release from penal institutions or juvenile training schools on parole, [2] a system for listening to the feelings, etc. of crime victims, etc. in which probation officers listen to the feelings, etc. of victims, etc. and convey them to perpetrators under probationary supervision, [3] a system in which the Regional Parole Board and probation office supply victims, etc. with information (see
subsections 3 and
4 in this section), and [4] a system in which mainly probation offices engage in counseling victims, etc., and with referrals to related institutions, etc. have also started. [1] and [2] are also provided for in the Rehabilitation Act promulgated on June 15 the same year.
