4 Termination of probation/parole supervision 94.5% of prison parolees and 68.0% of offenders given suspension of execution of sentence with probationary supervision had their supervision terminated upon completion of their terms. Looking at the percentage of the revocation of parole and suspension of execution of sentence in 2007, although the length of supervision periods differ between prison parolees and offenders given suspension of execution of sentence with probationary supervision, 5.0% of prison parolees (820 persons) were subject to revocation of parole, and 28.8% of offenders given suspension of execution of sentence with probationary supervision (1,386 persons) were subject to revocation of suspension of execution of sentence. Fig. 2-5-2-7 Percent distribution of termination of probation/parole supervision by reason (2007) Looking at the percentage of the revocation of parole and suspension of execution of sentence in 2007 by employment status at the point of revocation, 2.0% of employed parolees and 14.5% of unemployed parolees had their supervision terminated, while in the case of offenders given suspension of execution of sentence with probationary supervision, 13.4% of employed probationers and 55.6% of unemployed probationers had their supervision terminated (Source: Annual Report of Statistics on Rehabilitation).Fig. 2-5-2-8 shows the percent distribution of probationers/parolees at the time of their acceptance and those at the time of termination of their probation/parole supervision, by employment status in 2007. Although probationers/parolees newly received and those whose probationary supervision terminated in the same year are not necessarily the same, the ratio of employed probationers/parolees was much higher among those whose probation/parole supervision terminated than among those newly received, for both prison parolees and offenders given suspension of execution of sentence with probationary supervision. However, 24.4% of prison parolees and 34.6% of offenders given suspension of execution of sentence with probationary supervision whose probationary supervision terminated in 2007 remained unemployed.
