Section 3  The Medical Supervision of Mentally Disordered Offenders Act

  Fig. 3-4-3-1 shows the flow of treatment procedures under the Act on Medical Care and Treatment for Insane Persons or Persons with Diminished Capacity Who Have Caused Serious Case (Act No. 110 of 2003; hereinafter referred to as the “Act on Medical Care and Treatment for Insane Persons or Persons with Diminished Capacity”) which has been enforced since July 15, 2005.

  Rehabilitation coordinators (psychiatric social workers or other certified social workers as specified in cabinet order who have specialist knowledge on health and welfare for mentally disabled persons) engage in clerical work at probation offices under the Act on Medical Care and Treatment for Insane Persons or Persons with Diminished Capacity.
