2 Measures against drug-related crimes

Following the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs in 1961 and the Convention on Psychotropic Substances in 1971 the U.N. then adopted the U.N. Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in 1988. Japan has concluded these conventions and developed implementing legislation, while also having strengthened its cooperation in international countermeasures against drug-related crime that the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has played the leading role in tackling.
