1 Disposition by public prosecutors offices and courts

  Among the suspects not prosecuted by public prosecutors offices in 2007, 544 were found to be insane persons due to mental disorders (excluding negligence in vehicle driving, etc. and violations of road traffic related acts; Source: Annual Report of Statistics on Prosecution; see Table 2-2-3-3). Also, five persons were found to be not guilty on the grounds of insanity in the court of first instance (Source: The Supreme Court).
