4 Measures against drug-related offenses
Following
the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs in 1961, and
the Convention on Psychotropic Substances, the U.N. Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances was adopted at the United Nations in December 1988. So far, Japan has concluded these conventions and developed corresponding domestic acts, and also strengthened international cooperation in the field of international countermeasures against drug-related crimes which
the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has been playing a leading role in tackling.
