2 Previously convicted persons among adult offenders cleared for non-traffic penal code offenses

  Fig. 3-5-1-2 shows the number of persons previously convicted (those previously sentenced for their offenses excluding Road Traffic Act violations by final judgment; hereinafter the same in this Section) among adults cleared for non-traffic penal code offenses, and their proportion to all adults cleared, over the last 10 years.

  Table 3-5-1-3 shows the number of persons previously convicted and of those with the previous convictions for the same type of offense, among the adults cleared for non-traffic penal code offenses by type of major offense in 2005.
  The proportion of previously convicted persons was 28.5% of the total number of persons cleared for non-traffic penal code offenses, but was over 50% and 40% of those for extortion and intimidation and those for homicide, robbery, and fraud, respectively.
  The proportion of those with previous convictions for the same type of offense was 13.8% of the total number of persons cleared for non-traffic penal code offenses, but was nearly 20% of those with previous convictions for injury, extortion, and theft.
  The proportion of those with previous convictions for Stimulants Control Act violations was 56.6% of the total number of persons cleared for the same type of offense.
