3 Deportation

  For foreign nations who violate the Immigration Control Act, such as overstaying illegally in Japan, deportation procedures (including departure order procedures; hereinafter the same in this Chapter) are taken to deport such persons.
  Foreign nationals for whom deportation procedures were taken for Immigration Control Act violations in 2005 were 57,172 (an increase of 3.3% from the previous year). By reason, illegal overstay was the largest with 42,254 persons (73.9%), followed by illegal entry with 11,586 persons (20.3%), and engaging in activities outside the permitted scope with 1,890 persons (3.3%) (Source: The Immigration Bureau, Ministry of Justice).
