Section1 Numberof Offenses Involving Human Victims

  Fig.3-1-1-1 shows the number of reported non-traffic penal code offenses(excluding unsafe driving resulting in death or injury relating to traffic accidents;hereinafter the same in this Chapter)involving human victims(excluding cases in which victims are corporations or other organizations and bodies)and their rate per100,000persons over the last10years.
  The rate per100,000population in2004was2,334.6for those offenses in which the main victims were males,a decrease of232.1points from the previous year,and1,125.3for those offenses in which the main victims were females,a decrease of112.2points from the previous year.
  In this Chapter,"victims"mean"persons who suffered damage by crime"including those who suffered damage by those offenses that are stipulated by law for protecting social interests or national interests.
