5 Reimprisonment after release

Table2-4-2-10 shows the cumulative percentage of those inmates reimprisoned from1999to2004after their release from penal institutions in1999.
A greater number of inmates who were released on termination of sentence committed repeat offenses sooner than those released on parole.Considering those inmates who were reimprisoned in2004,the examination on the period from their previous release to their repeat offenses, which were their reimprisonment reasons, revealed that the percentage of those reimprisoned in less than one year after their release was the highest in previous offenses of violence at58.9%,followed by intrusion upon habitation at57.5%(see Appendix2-10 ).
Table2-4-2-11 shows the cumulative percentage of inmates who were released between1995and1999and reimprisoned within five years from the year of their release. There have been no significant changes in the reimprisonment rate.
