1. Imprisonment of members of organized crime groups

  Table II-19 shows the trends in the number of designated organized crime group members (members of"designated organized crime groups, etc. "under Article 2 of the Anti-Organized Crime Group Law, for the purpose of this section) who were imprisoned at the end of each year over the last 3 years. The number of designated organized crime group members who were newly imprisoned in 2000 was 3,747, of whom 1,221 were top executives, 1,994 were ordinary members and 532 were of unknown status (Source:Annual Report of Statistics on Correction).
