Of mentally disordered offenders with previous records of hospitalization,1,620had been discharged from hospital before committing an offense. As for their condition on discharge from hospital,306of these offenders(18.9%)were most recently discharged uncured. However, the condition of821persons(50.7%)recently discharged from hospitals is unknown, mostly because no comment was available from the hospitals. As regards the period between discharge and offense,737persons(45.5%)committed an offense within one year of discharge.
