Section 3 Characteristics of Mentally Disordered Offenders

1 Types of offense and mental disorder

  By offense, mentally disordered offenders most commonly committed homicide(accounting for20.0%of the total), followed by bodily injury(including bodily injury resulting in death)(18.3%)and arson(12.2%). By type of mental disorder, such offenders most often suffered from schizophrenia(58.8%of the total)(see Appendix IV-9 ).
