Rehabilitation activities aimed at reforming offenders and juvenile delinquents and achieving their smooth return to society could not be sufficiently effective without the understanding and cooperation of the community. In Japan, many private sector volunteers take part and cooperate in rehabilitation activities, and have formed the following organizations.
