2 Environment/public morals

Fig. 1-2-2-2 shows the number of persons newly received by public prosecutors offices for violations of the Waste Management Act, the Amusement Business Act, and the Anti-Prostitution Act (Act No. 118 of 1956) over the last 20 years (See Appendix 1-4). The number of persons received for Waste Management Act violations had been increasing every year since 1998, but was on a decreasing trend on and after 2008, and slightly decreased by 0.1% from the previous year in 2009. The number of persons received for Amusement Business Act violations had been increasing every year since 2001, but turned to a decreasing trend in 2008, and decreased by 10.8% from the previous year in 2009. The number of persons received for Anti-Prostitution Act violations had been on a decreasing trend in recent years, but increased by 17.3% from the previous year in 2009.
