2 Analysis by type of offenses

  Among134serious juvenile offense cases,injury resulting in death was most common with58cases(43.3%),followed by homicide with36cases(26.9%),unsafe driving resulting in death with20cases(14.9%),robbery resulting in death with18cases(13.4%),and abandonment by a person responsible for protection of the victim resulting in death with two cases(1.5%).

  Fig.4-5-1-4 shows the percent distribution by type of offenses excluding unsafe driving resulting in death and abandonment by a person responsible for protection of the victim resulting in death,and by type of perpetrators.

  Fig.4-5-1-5 shows the percent distribution by type of offenses and type of victims.
  Half of the cases of unsafe driving resulting in death were those in which juveniles caused the death of unacquainted persons,and half were those in which juveniles caused the death of their fellow playmates.Victims of abandonment by a person responsible for protection of the victim resulting in death were all blood relatives(birth children).Only one person was killed in most cases(127cases or94.8%),but there were two cases of unsafe driving resulting in death that caused more than two fatalities.
