Table 2-3-2-1 shows the results of trials for offenders whose judgments became final over the last10years.
  The number of defendants whose judgments became final in2003decreased by47,304(5.1%)from the previous year to877,070.Among them,while two defendants were sentenced to death as in the previous years,117defendants were sentenced to imprisonment with labor for life,showing a continuing increase since1998.Some80defendants were found not guilty in2003,the largest in the last10years,although accounting for0.009%of the total.
