The number of violations of road traffic related laws generally decreased after the1984peak,remaining at around8million in recent years,but increased by4.9%from the previous year to8,525,600in2004(Source:The Traffic Bureau,National Police Agency).
  Fig.1-3-1-4 shows percent distribution of violations of road traffic related laws by type of violations in2004.
  The number of notified cases of non-penal offenses under the traffic violation notification system was7,710,179(90.4%of the total number of crackdowns).
The Law for Partial Amendment to the Road Traffic Law(Law No.90of2004)defines violations of a ban of using cellular phones,etc.The number of crackdowns on these violations was150,411for six months after enforcement of the Law in November2004(Source:The Traffic Bureau,National Police Agency).
