8 Reason for release
Fig. 7-2-3-11 shows the percent distribution of young released inmates imprisoned for the first time/reimprisoned by reason for their release in 2010.
The proportion of parole was high at approximately 70% with young released inmates imprisoned for the first time. In contrast to this, completion of the term of imprisonment accounted for approximately 2/3 of those reimprisoned. Similar trends in the percent distribution were observed with total released inmates.
