2 Medical care by hospitalization

Persons decided to be hospitalized are hospitalized in designated hospitals for inpatient care (designated by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare) and receive specialized medical care. In addition, probation offices make arrangements for their living conditions after release. The number of cases received for arrangement of living conditions of inmates (excluding cases received by transfer) was 259 in 2008 (Source: Annual Report of Statistics on Rehabilitation).
