3 Rate of served imprisonment terms

  Fig. 2-5-1-2 shows the rate of the served imprisonment terms (the percentage of served imprisonment term to actual imprisonment term) by parolees sentenced to imprisonment for a determinate term over the last five years. It also shows the rate of served imprisonment terms of parolees sentenced to imprisonment for a determinate term in 2008, with or without previous convictions by imprisonment term.
  In recent years the proportion of those granted parole at an early stage when the rate of the served imprisonment term was still low has been on a decreasing trend. In addition, the proportion of persons with previous convictions was lower than that of those without previous convictions, and decreased as the imprisonment term increased for those sentenced to imprisonment for a term of over one year.
