3 Violations of the Child Welfare Act, etc.

  Fig. 1-2-2-3 shows the number of persons newly received by public prosecutors offices for violations of the Child Welfare Act (Act No. 164 of 1947), Act against Child Prostitution and Pornography, and Youth Protection Ordinance, over the last 10 years (see Appendix 1-4).

  Violations of the Act against Child Prostitution and Pornography, and the Youth Protection Ordinance have been recently increasing. The number of violations of the Act against Child Prostitution and Pornography was the highest in 2006 since the said act was enforced in November 1999, but decreased by 8.8% from the previous year in 2007. The number of violations of the Youth Protection Ordinance increased by 8.5% from the previous year in 2007.
