7 Damage to property

  The number of reported cases in damage to property was on a gradual increase until 1999 and increased markedly from 2000, reaching 230,743 cases in 2003. Since 2004, it decreased for four consecutive years to 185,472 cases (down by 9,352 cases (4.8%) from the previous year) in 2007, but it still maintains at a high level. The clearance rate has generally continued to decline until 2003, after recovering a little afterwards, it is still low at 7.3% in 2007.
  Table 1-1-2-6 shows the percent distribution of damage to property by damaged property and by place of occurrence in 2007.

  Vehicles account for more than half of damaged property, and in places of occurrence, the total of parking places for vehicles including bicycles and roads comes to 46.8%.
