6 Criminal records

  The attributes of repeat homicide offenders shall be reviewed here. Fig. 7-4-2-8 shows the percent ratio of repeat homicide offenders by whether offender had any criminal records and type of offense if any.

  With Boryokudan offenders, the percent ratio of those with a criminal record was higher for each of the four offenses when compared to non-Boryokudan offenders. Especially, the ratio of offenders with a criminal record of violent offense was high. On the other hand, the ratio of offenders without any criminal records of either of the four offenses was low at 6.0% with Boryokudan offenders, while it was 26.2% with non-Boryokudan offenders.
  Regarding the record of protective disposition, there were 42 (62.7%) Boryokudan offenders and 16 (26.2%) non-Boryokudan offenders who had received some kind of protective disposition while juvenile.
