1 Type of offense, sentence term, etc.

  By type of offense of the repeat case, homicide is the highest in number (99 persons/77.3%); followed by attempted homicide (14 persons/10.9%); homicide at the scene of a robbery (12 people/9.4%); and attempted homicide at the scene of a robbery (3 persons/2.3%).
  Fig. 7-4-2-1 shows the number of repeat homicide offenders, by sentence term of imprisonment for the repeat case. The number is the highest for life imprisonment (48 persons /37.5%). 10 persons (7.8%) were handed the sentence of less than ten years of imprisonment with work, all of which were attempted cases.

  Fig. 7-4-2-2 shows the number of repeat homicide offenders, by age group at the time of offense of the first-time case, at the time of offense of the repeat case, and at the time of research. The average age at the time of the first-time case was 30 years of age, the youngest being 16 and the oldest being 49. The average age at the time of the repeat case was 49.8 years of age, the youngest being 20 and the oldest being 76. The average age at the time of research (May 1, 2007) was 62.6 years of age, the youngest being 38 and of the oldest being 85.
