2 Number of parolees

  Fig. 2-5-1-1 shows the trend of the number of released inmates (those released on parole and those released on completion of sentence) and the parole rate (percentage of parolees in overall released inmates; hereinafter the same in this section) since 1949.
  The parole rate in 2006 was 50.7% (down by 2.3 points from the previous year) for males and 78.8% (down by 0.5 points (id.)) for females (Source: Annual Report of Statistics on Correction).
