2 Disposition by public prosecutors offices

  Fig. 1-3-1-4 shows the percent distribution of persons finally disposed by public prosecutors offices by type of disposition, for traffic cases (referring to cases suspected for dangerous driving causing death or injury, negligence in the pursuit of social activities in traffic accidents, and violations of road traffic related acts; hereinafter the same in this section) and general cases (referring to cases suspected for penal code offenses excluding traffic offenses and special act offenses), in 2006.
  The rate of indictment for dangerous driving causing death or injury was 90% or more, while that of non-prosecution was high for negligence in the pursuit of social activities in traffic accidents and that of summary trial procedure was high for violations of road traffic related acts.
