2 The Act for Partial Amendment to the Penal Code, etc. (Act No. 66 of 2005)

  This Act, which was put into force on July 12, 2005 except for a part of provisions, aims to develop domestic acts so as to conclude the "UN Optional Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children," and contains the following contents so as to appropriately deal with long-term confinement and heinous kidnapping of children: (1) statutory penalties for unlawful capture/confinement and kidnapping of minors shall be raised; and (2) the new offense category of buying or selling of human beings and kidnapping for the purpose of threat to life or body shall be established.
