Advisers to victims have been assigned at public prosecutors offices throughout Japan. They are engaged in counseling victims, guiding or accompanying them in courts to observe proceedings, assisting them for inspection of records, helping them with various procedures such as a claim for a return of evidence, and explaining criminal proceedings etc.
