Section 2  Homicide

  Table 1-4-2-1 shows the number of reported cases, crime rate, and clearance rate of homicide in five countries from 2000 to 2004 (See Appendixes 1-8 and 1-9).
  The number of reported cases and crime rate both have remained almost at the same level in all five countries. The clearance rate has been over 90% in Germany and Japan.
  Although an accurate comparison is difficult, the number of reported cases and the crime rate in Japan have been below the levels of the other four countries for those five years.
