6 Giving and acceptance of bribes

  Table 1-1-2-5 shows the number of public officials newly received and finally disposed by public prosecutors offices for acceptance of bribes in 2005.
  The number of those indicted was the highest for staff of local governments (51.6%).

  Table 1-1-2-6 shows the term of imprisonment with work sentenced in the court of first instance for giving and acceptance of bribes in the last five years. 87.1% of those sentenced imprisonment with work was granted suspension of execution of the sentence.

  Table. 1-1-2-7 shows the number of public officials newly received and finally disposed by public prosecutors offices in 2005, by type of offense.
  By type of offense, negligence in the pursuit of social activities in traffic accidents accounted for the overwhelming majority at 82.5% of the total number of newly received public officials.
