The number of persons referred for stimulant drug offenses has been on the rise since 1995, and it reached 19,156 in 2000, an increase of 3.6% over the previous year. By age group, persons in their 20s and 30s had large shared percentage.
  The numbers of persons referred for Cannabis Control Law violations and for Narcotics Control Law violations leveled off or decreased slightly over the previous year.
