Section 2 Special Law Offenses Committed by Women

  Table IV-9 shows the number of women referred for special law offenses other than Road Traffic Law and other traffic-related law violations in1999by offense, in comparison with data for1990and1998. Following a downward trend in recent years, the number of women referred increased9.0%from the previous year in1999. By offense, referrals for Stimulant Drug Control Law violations were most common among women, followed by Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Control Law violations and Immigration Control Law violations.
  By offense, the ratio of women in the total number of persons referred(the female ratio)in1999was relatively high for Anti-Prostitution Law, Adult Entertainment Business Law and Immigration Control Law violations.
